Welcome to the Graduate Futures E-Advice Service

This service is available for University of Hertfordshire students and alumni.

If you are a student or graduate from another institution you should be able to get advice from your own university’s careers service. Alternatively graduates can seek help via the graduate services on www.prospects.ac.uk

Using the E-Advice Service

We aim to make using the service as quick and easy as possible – the pointers below will help you to make the most of what is on offer:

  • Read through the FAQs section first- you may be able to find the answer to part or all of your question.
  • When submitting your query please give as much detail as you can – the careers consultant or information officer who answers you will probably not have met you before and what is obvious to you may not be obvious to us!
  • If you would like to have your CV, covering letter or application form reviewed, please phone us on 01707-284791 to make an appointment for a one-to-one consultation.

What You Can Expect From Us

Please take the time to read this section so that you know what you can expect from our e-advice service:

  • All our services are confidential and impartial.
  • You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your query within 24 hours.
  • We aim to respond to your query within a maximum of five working days. However it may take longer than five days to answer your question fully, for example if we need to ask you for more information or do some research on your behalf.
  • We aim to answer your query as fully as we can online but not all queries can be effectively answered by email so we may suggest you make an appointment for a one-to-one consultation.
  • You can use the e-advice service during term time and vacations but please note that there is no email answering service outside office hours, at weekends, bank holidays or other days when the university is closed.
  • Remember that Graduate Futures also offers face-to-face consultations (see the services for students section for more information) and you are welcome to use either or both services.

Graduate Futures is different because it is about both recruitment (finding jobs) and career development (being successful in the right career for you).
